Do you want to spread awareness of the United Nations, international security and international relations – as part of Denmark’s principal Model United Nations organization?

Our organization is known for delivering an internationally renowned one-week long MUN conference. A conference made up of equal parts academic endeavour, diplomat skills in practice and a unique social cohesiveness.

Who are we?

DanMUN is the principal Model United Nations association of Denmark. DanMUN was part of founding the United Nations Youth Association of Denmark and is, as a partner organization in UNYA, responsible for all national Model United Nations (MUN) efforts.

DanMUN was founded in 2006 and is internationally renowned for hosting MUN conferences with high academic quality. Today, DanMUN consists of a Team and various member MUN-organizations (such as University of Copenhagen Model United Nations, the DanMUN Society and Copenhagen Business School Model United Nations). The DanMUN team consists of a Board, a Marketing Department and a Conference Department. The purpose of the team is to organize MUN activities (first and foremost, the traditional annual week-long DanMUN Conference), coordinate national MUN efforts in Denmark, collaborate internationally with other MUN organizations and to service the member organizations with marketing, budgeting, fund raising and overall project management.

The epitome of DanMUN is the team effort during the conference.  The task of tying together the practical implications of juggling a last-minute visit from the US Ambassador, restaurant bookings for the evening, overseeing scenario development, and coordinating panel debates and visits of academics and top experts, is a demanding, but very rewarding effort.

However, during the entire year, more administrative tasks are also performed. The treasurer for example, is getting relevant experience balancing the books. The project group responsible for choosing and creating a scenario are researching, essentially writing a mini-thesis with help from the network around DanMUN. The marketing department analyses outreach and churns out a respectable website and social media presence.

Whether it is event management, project management, research, debate skills or leadership, DanMUN gives you the opportunity for building, honing and utilizing many skills as a member. You will also gain a network of dedicated, proficient, internationally aligned students in and outside Denmark. And not least of all, you will gain friends for life.

Who are you?

You….

-  are preferably a University student.

-  speak English well enough to engage within the organization.

-  want to learn.

-  like team work and are capable of being part of a project group organization.

-  thrive on the ability to make an impact on what you’re working with.

-  preferably reside within (or near) Copenhagen.

-  are willing to put time and effort into furthering the Model United Nations concept in both a national and international context. 

Desired Skills & Experience:

We are especially interested in those with any of the following skills/experiences:

-  Project management

-  Event management

-  Academic research

-  Initiative

-  MUN Experience

-  Social Media management

-  Marketing

-  A background in international relations, international politics or the like

-  Volunteer experience

-  Leadership (in relation to projects, events and project group organizations)

-  Photoshop, video editing and similar IT-creative skills.
