The Danish Embassy in Dar es Salaam is responsible for implementing the Tanzania-Denmark Country Programme, which includes support to the health sector, good governance, and private sector development as well as sector budget support to the Ministry of Finance and Planning. In the 2019 spring semester, the embassy will be taking on board three interns within the areas of: 1) good governance and communication, 2) health sector, and 3) macroeconomic analysis and Trade Council. The internship will give you an opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills and further develop your competencies. You will be living in Dar es Salaam with its vibrant social life and amble opportunities to experience African culture first hand.
AN INTERNSHIP WITH THE MACROECONOMIC ANALYSIS & TRADE COUNCIL TEAM
If you are interested in international development cooperation and Danish companies engagement in Africa and have an interest in applied macroeconomics as well as public finance. Then an internship as a part of the Macroeconomic & Trade Council team could be a great opportunity for you.
As an intern, you will be part of the daily work at the Embassy and the Macroeconomic & Trade Council team in particular. The Macroeconomic team works closely with the Ministry of Finance and Planning as well as other governmental institutions in order to support and strengthen the local administration, whereas the Trade Council advises Danish companies on doing business in Tanzania. TERMS OF INTERNSHIP
Danish citizens must be enrolled at a Danish or foreign institution of higher education. Foreign citizens must have lived in Denmark for a period of 3-4 years, must be enrolled at a Danish institution of higher education and must live in Denmark at the time of the deadline of the application.
The internships will last from the 1st of February 2019 and until the 31st of July 2019. The three interns will live together. Depending on your individual study arrangements in Denmark, you may be eligible to receive the Danish State Education Grant (SU) during the internship. The internship is unpaid but the Embassy will reimburse specified expenses related to the internship (e.g. airfare, vaccinations and insurance) and according to receipts submitted, within a total monthly ceiling of DKK 3,800. If you do not receive SU during the internship, the monthly supplement of DKK 3,800 can be paid without further documentation.
