Do you want to be part of the Research Unit at Danmarks Nationalbank and gain first-hand experience in economic research?

Student assistants in the Research Unit typically participate actively in the intellectual research environment of Danmarks Nationalbank. Furthermore, they gain insight into different topics relevant to Danish economic policy and the overall functioning of a policy-making institution.

The job

As our Student Assistant, you will work with economists in the Research Unit. You provide assistance in the preparation of datasets and collaborate in research work applying econometric and computational tools. You will occasionally contribute to administrative tasks, such as maintaining and updating websites as well as organising seminars and conferences.

We offer

You will be offered to join the student assistants' association in the bank and will have the opportunity to join numerus social events throughout the year.

Working hours will be either 15 or 18.5 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours will be required, as the workload is often unequally distributed throughout the week. The starting date for the position will be on 1 August 2021, but some flexibility may be possible for exceptional candidates.

Your profile

  • A strong academic background in economics or finance. Applicants should be in the advanced stages of a bachelor's or at the beginning of a master's degree in economics or finance.

  • Basic knowledge of statistical or numerical programming languages (STATA, MATLAB, Python or R).

  • High proficiency in both English and Danish.

  • Familiarity with econometric tools.

The ideal candidate has a keen interest in economic research and is willing to grow and acquire new skills. Prior experience with using Statistics Denmark datasets would be a great advantage, but is not a requirement.
