Student to help make the world’s largest LaTeX document, Copenhagen

It’s an exciting time for you to join us. We’re a changing company with big ambitions and together we’ll create the future of banking.

Working with us, you will play a part in building a better bank that fulfils a meaningful role in society. We aim to help our 11 million customers around the world improve their lives and reach their goals. To do that, meeting our customers’ changing needs and offering them the best possible service is central to everything we do. Interested in coming on the journey with us?

The offer

As a student in Risk Models, you’ll help us create what might be the world’s largest LaTeX document which will be version controlled with git and have processes automated in Python. It is thus essential that you know these tools in detail.

In Model Monitoring and Performance, part of Risk Models, we help set standards and support our risk model development units, and over the next 2 years we are going to make a lot of documentation in LaTeX. We want to facilitate the work by good templates, policies on version control, and one golden repository for all our documentation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Set up LaTeX templates to be used for all our documentation.
  • Help create a common bibliography file.
  • Set up policies for check-in comments to the git repository, branch policy, and ensure we can always point to official approved versions of documents.
  • Script document building and extraction of meta information around the repository to create reporting.
  • Support on technical questions.

The role is based in Copenhagen. Welcome to a new team that strives to set the bar high, but always with a pragmatic attitude to make things work in practice.

Who are you

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. The four key values that guide us in being at our best and that we expect all our colleagues be committed to.

To build a successful career with us, you’ll work well with others and always act with the customer’s needs in mind. You love learning and trying new things, and you’re excited about bringing your ideas to the table. You’re honest and dependable, willing to speak up even when it’s difficult, and committed to empowering others. You’re passionate about doing a great job.

Your background:

  • A student in a natural science subject like mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, or similar.
  • Knows the difference between LaTeX, pdfLaTeX, and luaLaTeX, and can write LaTeX macros.
  • Are on top of git branches, tags, staging area, and how to use them in a systematic way.
  • Can script things in Python and potential Lua.

If this sounds like you, we look forward to welcoming you to the team! This can for the right candidate be a good way into our model development units.
