Student to Nordea’s Group Recovery and Resolution Planning and Strategy team, Copenhagen

It’s an exciting time for you to join us. We’re a changing company with big ambitions and together we’ll create the future of banking.

Working with us, you will play a part in building a better bank that fulfils a meaningful role in society. We aim to help our 11 million customers around the world improve their lives and reach their goals. To do that, meeting our customers’ changing needs and offering them the best possible service is central to everything we do. Interested in coming on the journey with us?

Following the financial crisis of 2007 – 2009, world leaders agreed that the “too big to fail” problem needed to be addressed and never again should taxpayers have to bail-out failing banks. Central to this was the Financial Stability Board’s identification in 2011 of the largest and most significant banks on a global scale. Nordea was one of the banking groups on the list of so-called Global Systemically Important Banks (G-SIB). Being a G-SIB entailed among other additional supervisory requirements, that Nordea was required to draw up a recovery plan for the first time in 2012. Since then, the regulatory space in this area has evolved significantly and as a member of Nordea’s Recovery and Resolution Planning and Strategy team you will take part in the continued developments.

The offer

As a Student in the Recovery and Resolution Planning and Strategy team (RRPS), you will help to manage the annual update of Nordea’s Group Recovery Plan. The Recovery Plan is Nordea’s survival strategy which identifies actions that can be taken in order to restore capital and liquidity in a crisis situation. The role also offers you an exciting opportunity to contribute to Nordea’s activities relating to resolution planning. Nordea’s resolution plan is drafted and maintained by the resolution authorities and Nordea is responsible for providing the information and analysis relevant to them.

In RRPS you will be at the centre of a broad range of activities in the field of Recovery and Resolution Planning. You will work with stakeholders across all areas of the Group with the annual updates of the recovery plan, assist with various ad-hoc requests, prepare presentations, and provide assistance to the resolution planning activities. This will give you an opportunity to build a valuable network across Nordea Group.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support in updating Nordea’s Group Recovery Plan
  • Work collaboratively with internal contributors and stakeholders on gathering subject matter input to resolution planning
  • Draft presentation materials
  • Support in various ad-hoc tasks relating to recovery and resolution planning

You will be based in Copenhagen but the team is represented in both Stockholm and Copenhagen. Welcome to a small and dedicated team of experts in recovery and resolution planning in Group Risk Management & Control.

Who are you

You love learning and trying new things, and you’re excited about bringing your ideas to the table. You’re honest and dependable, willing to speak up even when it’s difficult, and committed to empowering others. You’re passionate about doing a great job.
