Ambitious Analyst with specialisation in applied microeconomics

We are looking for an economist who has specialised in applied microeconomics and has a keen interest in working with competition economics. You will be working from one of our offices in either Brussels, Copenhagen, Helsinki or Stockholm. The start date is flexible.

WHO ARE WE?

At Copenhagen Economics we provide Hard Facts and Clear Stories to enable our clients to make better choices in their political and commercial realities. We succeed because we are a cooperative team drawn from the best economists, applied microeconomists and quantitative economists in Europe. A pillar of our success is the level of service which we provide to both public and private clients in the delivery of compelling, pragmatic economics solutions. We have extensive hands-on experience working with theoretical and quantitative economic analyses which we tailor to the needs and the business models of our clients.

Copenhagen Economics is one of the leading economics firms in Europe, and for the past 15 years has been consistently listed by the Global Competition Review (GCR) as one of the Top-20 economic consultancies in the world.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

Working at Copenhagen Economics means collaborating with the best and brightest economists in Europe. Teamwork is a fundamental part of how we operate, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with your colleagues to further develop your economic toolbox and analytical skills. You will work on a broad variety of cases at all stages of a project ranging from data collection to ultimately communicating results to clients.

You will join our team as a member of our Market business unit where we work on a broad range of services. What unites us is our shared passion for competition economics and providing top-tier service to our clients in investigations before European competition authorities, court proceedings, regulatory challenges and commercial decisions. We take pride in our teamwork and only engage the best expertise in all cases.

You will take on an exciting and challenging position in an international, flexible, friendly and fast-paced environment. You will assume extensive responsibilities from the outset and get the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Working as part of a team when dealing with clients, we make sure to recognise individual contributions and celebrate shared successes.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

You possess personal drive, a perceptive business sense and integrity. You take pride in delivering high-quality advice to our clients in accordance with agreed deadlines and budgets. You have a special interest in theoretical and applied microeconomics. A PhD in Economics is highly valued, but not a must. Alternatively, you would have a Master’s degree in economics, preferably with a focus on industrial organisation and/or a number of years of relevant experience in the application of competition economics.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • A natural curiosity to learn about a variety of industries and open to working on different types of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a high level of English proficiency. Working knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit your application, including CV, cover letter and academic transcripts no later than 16 April 2021. In your motivational letter, please elaborate on why you would like to work with us and why you believe you would be a good fit for the role and our team (max 500 words). We would also kindly ask you to provide the names and job titles of three references whom we could contact in the event you are called for an interview. These individuals can be noted at the end of your CV and we will of course inform you before we reach out to them.

As a company we are committed to responding to all applicants, no matter the result, and successful candidates will be informed and called for an interview on an ongoing basis. If you have any questions you are welcome to contact Dr Adina Claici at acl@copenhageneconomics.com.

We look forward to receiving your application!
