Key responsibilities

As a student assistant in Svitzer Europe Commercial Team, you will be working closely with colleagues in Copenhagen and across Europe to deliver the following main responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of the Rolling Forecast, by preparing data views and slides for our target setting package to Svitzer Global Headquarters
  • Participate in the cost-to-serve calculations for all ports in Europe and make recommendations for tariffs and discounted prices
  • Undertake deep dive analysis into suggested structural changes to tariff to inform decision making
  • Update the standard tariff sheet including content, terms and conditions, as well as layout and design
  • Tracking and documenting service level performances
  • Data collection and analysis supporting growth and strategical projects (Market size, Forecasting Revenue, Competition, among others)
  • Assist our commercial managers preparing service performance and pricing reports
  • Supporting in other ad hoc commercial projects

We are looking for

A confident and energetic person who enjoys freedom to operate independently and take pride in delivering high quality work. You demonstrate strong analytical skills and have a strong attention to detail.

Ideally you have completed your Bachelor studies and are at the initial stages of your Master studies in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field. Furthermore, you will possess:

  • A Customer mindset
  • Good communicator
  • Curious
  • Independence and ability to prioritise
  • Data analytical skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English (Danish is not a requirement for this position)
  • Ability to work with Office 365 applications such as PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.
  • Excellent Excel skills

We offer

This is an exciting part-time position where you will become part of a collaborative and experienced Commercial team. You will be working alongside colleagues from other functional areas such as Operations, Procurement, Technical, Finance and HR. As a Student Assistant at Svitzer, you will also join our vibrant student community.

The position is based in our offices at Harbour House, Copenhagen. We have flexible working hours and expect you to work approx. 20 hours per week. We strive to create the right conditions for great employee experience where you can also stay on track with your studies. In the office we do have a canteen, as well as lounge areas, a fitness center and lots of social activities.

This is not just any student position, but a part-time job that can prepare you for a success career in the shipping industry.
