Commodity Analyst (student) for Mintec

Main Purpose of Job:

The successful candidate will be a valuable member of the forecasting team and will update and develop analyses of market developments within a range of commodities, including metals, energy sources, plastics, and edibles. As a student employee at Mintec you will be able to schedule your working hours to a great extent. The working hours will be 15-20 a week. We expect a certain degree of flexibility near deadlines, but we will accommodate your requests in relation to your exams and schedule.

Responsibilities:
 

-Maintain fundamental analyses of commodities, which analyse supply, demand, inventory levels, cost driver developments and financial measures
-Support the identification and development of additional analytical indicators
-Collect and interpret data from a wide range of sources including industry organizations, The Federal Reserve, Eurostat, Census Bureau, CFTC, BLS, and many more.
-Ensure ISO 27001 training is attended and all mandatory documents have been read to ensure working practices comply

The Candidate: 

-Studies HA (almen), HA (mat), or Polit 2nd, or 3rd year
-Possesses strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
-Is fluent in English
-Speaks Danish at an intermediate level or better
-Works independently, professionally and in a well-structured manner
-Is able to identify problems, to collect data, to establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
-Enjoys repetitive tasks based on practical procedures and systems
-Has an interest in econometric techniques
-Has a solid knowledge of Excel
