Junior Analyst - New Markets and Business Development team
Copenhagen Offshore Partners’ (COP's) offshore wind development activities are growing rapidly with projects in Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia.
We are looking to hire top candidates to join our New Market & Business Development team in Copenhagen. Candidates who wants to take on central roles in shaping the growth of our business and the offshore wind industry.
COP is a world leader in origination, development and construction of offshore wind projects and works exclusively for one of the leading green infrastructure fund managers in the world, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). Our employees are located where project activities take place in Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas. Our footprint has expanded from Australia, Denmark, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, USA in 2019 to opening offices in Scotland and Vietnam in 2020 and Greece and Italy in 2021 with many more to come. COP is led by its two co-founders and owned by management. While growing from 6 to 150 people, the entrepreneurial spirit, optimistic mentality, growth mindset, hands-on approach, and can-do attitude has remained since founding in 2016.
The ongoing worldwide diffusion of offshore wind requires winning developers to be on top of moving markets and ahead of competition, why we have set up our New Markets and Business Development team in early 2021 to look after and develop new potential offshore wind markets as well as new technologies and concepts associated to offshore wind. We continously assess new markets and technologies, to filter and progress our understanding of the most promising ones so that we can ultimately enter new geographical and energy technology markets to create and pursue project investment opportunities.
The Junior Analyst will play a key part in supporting the New Market & Business Development team’s assessment and maturation of new markets, technologies, and concepts
We are looking for a third year Bachelor or first year Master student within business administration, economics, law, or engineering. We expect relevant prior experience from a student position, extracurricular activities or foreign exchange, passion for renewable energy and high-level understanding of investments, project development or energy systems. You will work from our office in Copenhagen two full days a week on average and support the team’s assessment and maturation of new markets, technologies, and concepts through the following activities:
- Gather information and conduct analyses on drivers and obstacles for new markets, technologies and concepts through desktop research, databases, and internal experts
- Create overviews and detailing of markets, technologies, and concepts
- Contribute to planning, assessment and maturation of markets and technologies
- Contribute to proposing development strategies, recommendations, and next steps
- Coordinate and support incoming delegations and local market investigations
- Collaborate with third party suppliers of market insights, tools, and analyses
Your profile
The ideal candidate has some experience with renewable energy or project development, engineering, management consulting or investment banking and possess the following:
- Top academic achievements with strong analytical skills
- Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience in structuring presentations
- Desire to learn the craftsmanship of renewable energy project development
- Proactive and service-minded team player
- Dedicated and persistent with an eye for detail
- Cultural awareness and ability to thrive in multinational teams
- Excellent written and spoken English skills and ability to communicate concisely
- Entrepreneurial mindset and a strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be granted a significant amount of responsibility
- Experience with renewable energy or business development preferred but not required
Further, it is essential that you are self-driven, curious, and keen to challenge yourself with new tasks. Also, your personality and skillset enable you to create and maintain relations and communicate efficiently across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
