We are a small team in a large organization which gives you the best of being both small and large. We work in small project teams with an entrepreneurial vibe while working closely with leading subject matter experts within our organisation.
Our team is a part of Deloitte’s newly formed Strategy, Risk and Transactions Advisory business unit in which we sit in the M&A (Transaction Advisory) team with Corporate Finance (CF) and Transaction Service (TS). Our team (Deal Transformation) has its own distinct service offerings in the intersection between management consulting and M&A, and often work closely with our colleagues from other departments incl. strategy.

Job Description

As an entry-level Consultant in Deal Transformation you will work on projects through the M&A life cycle from M&A strategy to post-merger integration and value realization. You will work in a team, where you will advise and assist the clients in their end-to-end M&A journey.

The typical projects include:

  • M&A strategy: Define clients’ M&A strategy, help Private Equity firms and Corporate players assess the market potential and go-to-market strategy of a target company under new ownership, identify concrete initiatives that create measurable value, and analyse business opportunities in the market.
  • Due diligence: Analyse the acquisition target through either a commercial- (e.g., market sizing, segmentation focus, etc.), operational- (e.g., organizational structure analysis, synergy identification, blueprint analysis of the organization as-is and the organization “to-be”) or technology due diligence (e.g., IT organisation, roadmap planning, and digital capability analysis).
  • Carve-out and integration: Work as part of the team to help the client manage complex transformations for corporate separations/ integrations by defining and driving the transition towards the new operating model and delivering synergies in close collaboration with the client team.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?
We are searching for candidates with a master’s degree within the fields of Business, Strategy, Finance, Economics, Technology or similar areas. Most importantly, we are interested in your analytical skills, enthusiasm for collaboration and teamwork and eagerness to learn combined with an engaged, structured, and curious personality.
We understand that not every candidate possesses all the requirements listed, but we still encourage you to apply if you meet most of the following criteria:

  • Outstanding academic results in your master’s degree
  • Analytical mindset (you like thinking about how things work or are interrelated)
  • Proactive and curious (you consider yourself a bit of an entrepreneur)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Curious to know more about M&A (no need to be a pro, but you need to be eager to learn)
  • Love working in a friendly and dynamic environment with diverse teams
