Student assistant (research) for Department of Economics at Copenhagen Business School

Specifics for the positions and your role
The core activities of the student assistant will be compiling and cleaning data, writing code to implement analysis as directed by researchers in our department, producing publication-style tables and figures, and supporting faculty in working with registry data. You will undertake various tasks, including but not limited to: data management, statistical programming, and literature reviews. Some ad-hoc tasks will also be required.

The Person
You will have a good understanding of economics and/or statistics and econometrics, e.g. from the pursuit of a related degree, as well as a good understanding of STATA. In addition, familiarity with registry data and programming languages Python and R is a plus. Solid academic grades in your current studies, fluency in English, an ability to work independently as well as in teams, good organizational skills, and a willingness/enthusiasm to learn new methods will also be important.

When occupying the vacancies, we prioritize e.g.:

  • Knowledge of STATA and/or R and/or Python
  • Knowledge of economics, statistics and econometrics
  • Experience from previous occupation
  • Grades achieved

Salary and employment conditions
Employment will be according to the HK- organizational agreement and the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees’ Organizations (OAO-S Joint Agreement).

The salary currently ranges between DKK 141,15 and DKK 148,06 and is dependent on previous employment within the office field and educational level. Pension contributions are made. The pension contribution amounts to 16% of the pensionable salary components.

It is a condition for employment that you are an active student enrolled at a Danish institution in higher education or a professional bachelor programme; and that, at the start date at the latest, you have a physical address in Denmark, a Danish social security number and a Danish bank account.

The position is limited to 12 months. The average weekly working time will be 15 hours. It is expected that you can be physically present at the institute a few times a week, but specific working hours will be agreed upon.
