No more B.Sc. Economics in English

Peter Erling Nielsen, Director of Studies at Department of Economics, who initiated the English program three years ago, has now come to a point of shutting down the program. The reasons for the programme's closure include budget cuts, a lack of funding, Danish lower GDP percentage for education and the bad economy in general, but in addition to these main reasons, he also confessed his disappointment in the numbers and the qualification of the international students.

"Especially in mathematics, they lacked a serious level of education. Plus their attendance to lectures and classes was extremely low, and many failed their courses. It was disappointing"he says.

Current Danish and International students, however, are not happy with the news. Department of Economics decision was disappointing to them as well. Nevertheless, from February 2011, the current international bachelor program will be replaced by Danish version.
